I once found myself in the Safeway in Penzance. I had always thought that the pirate accent you hear in movies was made up until then. I swear I heard a pirate cantering away up the next aisle, wooden leg keeping beat as he complained, "Arrr, 'ave ya everrr noticed that these trollies always have one casterrr akilterrr?? Eh, Polly?" I may have misheard but I know I heard that accent.
