If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then this weekend
Utata is going to flatter everybody. This weekend Utata
is going to imitate real life.
We want you to photograph representations of human life: dolls,
mannequins, robots, marionettes, action figures, statues,
figurines…any physical manifestation of the human figure or face that
can be identified as such.
If you're too shy to ask real people to pose for you…this is the
project for you. If you get tired of telling your model to stand
still…this is the project for you. If your model refuses to pose "just
so" at your instruction…this is the project for you. If you like your
models to offer suggestions, or give you feedback, or fetch you coffee
while you're working…then this weekend you can take a nap.
As always, the idea behind this project is for you to create
new photographs. But, as always, we're not total fascists…so
you can contribute up to three images from your archives. While there
is no limit on the number of photographs you can submit to the
project, please try not to be too redundant. We're looking for your
best work.
So go out there and imitate life!
Participating in this Utata project is simple! You need to do/have the following three things and then all you have to do is tag your photos utataimitateslife (read about other tagging options) and you're all set! Have fun!
