Alida Thorpe

Photography was always a major interest for me from the early 1970s, when I bought my first SLR camera, the Honeywell Pentax. Since I have retired, I have become more active in photography and hope to improve my skills and learn as much as possible in the field. I am currently using the Nikon D200.

I love being outdoors and appreciate nature, especially birds. My newest activity is fly-fishing. I also scuba dive and recently began taking underwater photos. I was born and raised in Brooklyn and now I live on Long Island, NY. I love where I live! We have many beaches and parks with abundant wildlife.
