Welcome! My name is Amber Graham. I've been a shutterbug since I bought my first camera at age 15. I've been a Flickr member since March 2006. And I joined Utata in January 2007.
I have learned a lot about photography over the years, but am always eager to learn more, to experiment, to improve, and most of all, to enjoy and share my passion. Comments are always welcome.
I was all prepared to explain that I enjoy taking animal photos because I relate to them better than I relate to people, when I was jolted by the thought: perhaps that's why I'm not very good at taking people portraits! (You can only blame the camera for so much, right?)
Nature and animals act as a release for me; freeing me from the conventions and pressure of human society. I enjoy the connection I have with nature, and enjoy trying to present it in a unique way through photographs.
That desire to portray things in a unique way is what lead me to reflect on my growth as a photographer in my project entitled "Accomplishing the Extraordinary: One Frame at a Time". I have to remember that, while being unique is important, sometimes I must also yield to taking photographs that accomplish the most basic function of pictures: ones that act as souvenirs or postcards from moments gone by.
