Brett is a hardworking amateur photographer, striving to become a professional. He lives and photographs in Los Angeles, California. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, raised in Peoria, Illinois, moved to Denver, Colorado, moved to Steamboat Springs Colorado, got married, started a local country music band, left the band and Steamboat Spring, moved to Los Angeles and stayed. Loves the weather in L.A. and is learning to ignore the politics.
He likes outdoor, nature photography, always trying to duplicate with the camera what he sees in the field. However, he also likes to experiment with light effects and night photography. He's also been seen just wandering around his own house and yard taking pictures of the old cars, the neighbor's cats, the birds, things from his mechanic's toolbox, whatever looks like it might make for an interesting photo. His current passion is capturing candid pictures of the animals at the Wildlife WayStation where he works.
I take pictures, or make images, of what interests me and of things I believe to be beautiful. I hope other people will also find them interesting and beautiful, but it is okay with me if they don't. My images tend to show what I'm am doing and where I am, so the subject matter will evolve as I do. If you find that they make you happy, or lift you up a bit, then you and I are in accord. My hope is that you enjoy looking at the images as much as I enjoyed creating them.
