Artist's Statement

I enjoy taking closeups of industrial objects. These items were once filled with purpose and busy-ness. They have now been abandoned, but their structure and form still shows the purpose of their long-departed designers. If you get close enough, you can feel the life force that still attaches to them.
I do closeups because it involves the viewer more intimately with the object. Also, I have little or no control over backgrounds; the closeup avoids this problem.
