I use my photography as a means to see the world around me in a different light. By focusing on small projects that investigate a common theme, and applying a common technique in my exploration, I reveal details that I would otherwise miss in my day to day life. I prefer to work close to home, to see the hidden beauty in my own back-yard over traveling to exotic locales.
At this point in my artistic career I am working through different styles and materials to create a wide view of the world. I enjoy taking on small projects to give a continuity within a working style.
The work on display at Utata represents a cross section of the styles I'm currently working with. Classic black and white portraits, color abstract landscapes, and soft focus investigations of my neighborhood all have a place in my growing portfolio.
