A photography student / husband / dad / office monkey / music lover / person.
My best work is on my photoblog+ called phojus.
I live and work in Greater Manchester, UK. And I'm studying The Art of Photography in my spare time with the Open College of the Arts. I'm a little bit arty and I love music.
I have a big fat digital SLR which I love; it's been a tough relationship but we're getting along fine now. And a lovely little Lomo which goes everywhere with me. I keep threatening to start drawing /painting again and made a few sketches on holiday recently. I'm getting into writing too although I'm not very good.
My main motivation in photography is that I do it because I love it and am inspired by the work of others. I hope to make some money from it one day, but either way I'll never put my camera down.

My work mainly relates to landscape and urban photography. I love the outdoors and enjoy photographing places of natural beauty. But I also live and work in the city of Manchester, UK. So I enjoy photographing the architecture and structure of the city; growth and decay.
Much of my recent work is bold in colour and form. I try to find shapes, patterns and hues that excite the viewer and show more than just the subject itself.
I love the Scottish islands; the landscapes; the sea and the way of life. They have a special place in my heart and I feel a spiritual connection with them. For The Utatan, I wanted to share one of my favourite places; the island of South Uist in the Outer Hebrides. And attempt to bring some of it's special qualities to the viewer.
