My profile is quite unique, being a professional in the creative industry with a technical background. I went from a graphic design study to finish IT and back to Interaction Design. I swing back and forth between free minded creativity and structural thinking.
My photography is of an eclectic kind. One time it conveys emotion or aesthetic beauty, while an other time I register and record things that grab my attention. When colour is the subject, I shoot colour. I use black and white when the colour gets in the way of the image. I shoot digital as well as 35mm film, either black and white or experiments with cross-processed slides. For film I use several kinds of cameras.
A recurring subject in my photography is what I call 'lifeless faces'; faces in objects which were not designed to be faces. I did a project on this with hand developed black/white film, printed in very small format. Next to that, I love the look of old, battered, rusty materials and abandoned or demolished places. The idea of what happened with objects and places in the past intrigues me, that is why the second world war catches my attention as well. In contrast to that, minimalism and abstracts catch my eye.
