Artist's Statement

My current work evolved from my work with Polaroid and other types of transfer printing. Beginning with a digital capture, I process the images, making color, saturation, focus and textural choices. Additional story elements are sometimes added to create a heightened sense of drama or mystery. Colors are skewed and textures added giving the prints a vintage and somewhat dreamlike mood. These elements of imperfection lend a hand wrought quality to the digitally processed images.

Rarely do my images contain the human form. I want to allow the viewer space to enter, bringing with them their own narrative, interpretations and imaginative wanderings. The physical imagery is real, but its translation is imaginary.
