We received our first(and possibly only) snow today in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
It is always a little funny to me coming here from the northeast to see the hysteria created over some snow flurries. The news media has been hyping this "major weather event" for almost one week.
-Major universities closed BEFORE the first flake fell
-Local television stations breaking in to programming to report their "Winter Blast Live Team Coverage"
-Grocery stores gutted of bread and milk
-Banks close early, prior to any snow
-95% of the employees where I work decide to 'work from home'
-Fort Worth Police report they have responded to over 130 accidents in a 12-hr period
This image was taken on my street and shows the extent of the 'major weather event'.
Worth a good, hearty laugh by anyone not living in the Metroplex ;)
