Vancouver International Airport, a weekday night. The big jumbos have not yet arrived, and the domestic flights have all left (save for the midnight red-eyes).

An uneasy quiet descends on the terminal. The $15 store ("Everything Is $15!!!") sits empty, a bored shop girl sweeps the floor sullenly. Behind me, the white noise of exiting tourists.

Soon the terminal is quiet again.
