A big part of the Folklife festival is the evening concert series. And this year a fourth cultural group was added, New Orleans. In the wake of Katrina a lot of New Orleans musicians have lost a large part of their income which comes from entertaining in the clubs in New Orleans. The Smithsonian Institution decided to help out and sponsored a series of concerts about their plight and their music. And the crowds loved it.
