Sunset at the Lake
Some places I visit and think, precisely: that was nice but I wouldn't want to live there. Over the years, I've learned, little by little, which things matter to me the most, and like most of the big things - what I want to be when I grow up, for example - I can draw myself a very clear picture, but I feel free to change that picture on a regular basis. After all, even "home" is not a specific location, it's a state of mind. I've come to think that I need mountains and ocean, both, that if I am not suspended between them, I'll feel locked in. But maybe that's too specific, maybe it's just the water I need, that cold, fresh lake water is just as right. After all, I grew up swimming in lakes of mountain runoff. At least, at the shores of this lake, it seemed so. Or is that what truly travelling is - waking up and feeling like you are still at home, it just looks different when you step outside?
