thunderstorm on wall street

The weather can change rapidly on a summer evening in northern Utah. Like a Fourth of July thunderstorm, unexpected bad stuff can suddenly appear and change the course of our actions. Despite the signals, we forge ahead, suppressing our fears by turning up the volume and praying for the best.

Watch the lights, watch the road, keep an eye on the storm front. An hour ago, when the sun was out, the drive home didn’t raise an eyebrow. Now, with darkness settling in and a lightning storm approaching, things are different. Dangerous. Unsettling. Foreboding.

Our lives are filled with unexpected challenges of all sizes. Some require a simple change of plans; others demand personal sacrifice.
