Camp Sweet Camp

My wife, Carol, and I met in the mountains of Colorado in a little town called Steamboat Springs. We were married there, in the back yard of the trailer in which we lived. Her sister was the Minister, my father, the Best Man. We had a Pot Luck reception in the back yard with our friends and family. We have a great affinity for the mountain country because of the life we shared while living there. The mountains around Big Bear Lake are very much like those Colorado mountains, and so Carol and I are reminded of our beginnings by all we see, by the fresh pine smell, by the cool mountain breezes. It feels like home to us. We always see a movie at the theater in the city of Big Bear Lake on Saturday afternoon and then go out to dinner somewhere -- two things which we rarely do at home. It's like a little honeymoon every year. Outside of our regular routine, we can see and appreciate all of the qualities that we like in each other, the endearing habits, mannerisms, and ways of thinking that have made it possible for us to stay together for thirty years.
