The Lightouse

I cannot help but wax lyrical about lighthouses and all that they represent to many of us. Everything about these landmarks is utterly
appealing, from their simple shapes capped with the massive ever-turning beacons to their often wondrous locales set on rocky islands, as well as those wide panoramic views tinted with that tangy smell of sea salt.

Such a distinct flavour of nostalgia…

Of course one cannot fail to mention the history of place that these singular objects often imbue, such as this one as told by Genista™, in this visually intense capture.

The Point Piedras Blancas lighthouse was damaged in the Loma Prieta earthquake of 1989, but the Fresnel lens survived and is now on display in a specially designed structure in the small town of Cambria.Eddy Joaquim
