Reinvention

Just when things seem at their lowest point, humanity seems to percolate wonderment and surprise. Downtown Detroit has suffered much from abandonment and languishes under the weight of large-scale urban decay. Whole swathes of the city are empty, street upon street of the city centre seem decimated and lost, as urban residents have fled over the last decades in search of a perceived suburban bliss in the hinterlands.

And yet slowly but surely beauty has been reintroduced in the form of contemporary art by unknown artists and eyes that see the potential of a city yet to be reborn. Detroit waits to reemerge, and until then these anonymous interventions will forever mark the memory of the city in ways no one can predict.
