Iona
pdcawley

The woman in this picture was married less than a week before, and call me jaded if you like, but what is that long, wistful gaze into the distance? Piers Cawley has caught a semblance of something that looks like yearning. Maybe she floated back to earth after all that anticipation, all that preparation, all that fundamental and traumatic plight trothing. I don’t know.

What I do know is that she is exquisitely beautiful. The camera soaks her up into itself. Her apparent 90 degree intent to ignore the thing is betrayed by her light nod lensward. She sees far into the distance as we see every tilt and line of her profile. I return to Iona again and again. One day I’ll meet her, I’m certain. Brendadada
