She’s Dancing

I feel the trembling tingle of a sleepless night, Don Mclean sings in his song Empty Chairs. She’s Dancing, we know is the title, but who stands there on the edge with a camera? Where is the dancer? Is this a recording of loss or the anticipation of imminent fulfillment? The color fades into monotone and the periphery begins to blur and still, it’s uncertain: is this a memory or a moment, is the dancer still dancing and is she coming into the frame or has she just left it?
