The Quintessence of an Artist

Layers of talent and emotion make this one of those multi-dimensional pictures
that doesn’t require special glasses or eye-crossing. It is pure and simple and yet full of context. The sepia treatment accentuates the shadows and angles: smooth and flowing in the painting and delicate and well-defined in the artist’s contour.

It is said that artists often have dual personalities: they extend beyond their inner selves to respond impulsively to their surroundings. This image speaks of that duality. Zooming in, we try to decipher the meaning of the beautifully shaped writing in the painting. Take a step back and we focus more on the artist who searches for further inspiration in her half-finished work; she
muses, brush poised for action.
