Untitled

A pool hall…dark and hushed as a medieval church, puddles of pearly light filter down from invisible fixtures, illuminating green baize tables that seem almost to hover in mid-air. A solitary supplicant prowls around each isolated table, pool cue in hand, while shadowy figures stand just outside the circle of light, silent as acolytes at prayer.

This the worship of vectors and angles, a Newtonian doxology to the immutable laws of physics. Billiards is a ritual of mathematical elegance, and the muted click of pool balls is as full of grace as a Gregorian chant. Here that elegance and grace are embodied and enfolded in a green sweater.
