Exploring The City

The floorboards lead to the sky; the broad expanse of their weathered forms splayed toward the camera lense. The pilons lead to the east; their receding, connected tokens breaking the perspective, angling the eye towards the juxtaposition and then off, into the clouds.

Perspectives. Angles. The myriad connections of wood and concrete, sky and air, architecture and nature – these are the elements of a city … any city. Here you come and lay on your belly on the warm wood and ponder the connections to that which is both parent and child, jailer and protector, liberator and temptress. Perspectives converge, perspicuity shifts, wood weathers and people age. And the city? It remains in a different cycle, on its own timeline, more hardy than those that built it. You may explore it today – but tomorrow it will be different and you will be different and the exploration starts all over again.
