It’s just a simple cardboard box. Nestled inside are the delicate spherical skeletons of sea urchins gathered off the beach by the photographer’s grandmother. Soft light, muted colors, unpretentious arrangement. On this day when millions of brilliant red, artfully designed boxes filled with expensive chocolates are bought and sold, it’s worth remembering that love isn’t about commerce, and not all valentines are heart-shaped.
