Itália, Pisa
Zuvor

History tells us that as early as the fifth century, BC, there was a city by the sea where Pisa is today. It has known great military and marine success but remains, to this day, most known for the famous leaning tower.
Generally accepted as apocryphal, it is nonetheless good fun to imagine that Galileo Galilei dropped two cannon balls from the tower to prove his theories on mass and speed.

Mussolini has tried to straighten it, the US Army nearly blew it up and it has captivated our imaginations like virtually no other building in our recorded history. It is a testament to the underdog; a celebration of the unusual, the odd, the eccentric. It is a momument to our dogged imperfection and as this photographer reminds us, a brilliant reflection of the very best parts of us.
