Red Umbrella in Snow
TRHolte
Red is the color of contradiction. It’s the color of oxygenated blood, the blood that suffuses the body when it’s aroused. It’s the color of passion. The color red is a biological cue that indicates the body is ready to go. Yet it’s also the universal color that signals ‘Danger.’ It’s the universal color that symbolizes ‘Stop.’
Red is the color of contradiction. It’s red hot, it’s a red flag, it’s seeing red, it’s the welcoming red light district, it’s the severe red traffic light, it’s the color of Christmas, it’s the color of loss on a balance sheet, it’s the red card that sends a player off the pitch, it’s the red cape that enrages the bull, it’s the color of the valentine and the lowest value ball in snooker.
Red is about stopping and going. It’s about danger and passion, it’s about caution and excitement, it’s about warning and invitation all at the same time. It’s the color of contradiction. It’s an umbrella on a field of snow. It’s the color of contradiction and we love it so. We love it so.
