rainy day
Archer's Eye
It’s cold outside, and wet. The cat has abandoned its search for a warm, sunny spot for a nap. I sit and watch the rain collect on the window, and give into the What Ifs.
What if I’d said “no” instead of “yes”? What if I’d said “yes” to something different? What if I’d taken that other job? What if I’d decided not to do the sensible thing? What if I’d been more careful? What if I hadn’t fallen in love? What if I’d fallen in love with somebody else? What if I’d finished writing that novel? What if I won the lottery? What if what it what if my life was different? Would I be sitting somewhere else, watching the rain collect on the window and giving into the What Ifs?
It’s cold outside, and wet. The cat has decided to clean its ears.
