My sister’s lashes flick against the palm of my hand; my hot breath warms her skin. Our bodies fastened together, we hinder and protect—indispensable one to the other. Eyes speak what lips can find no voice for. Lips know what eyes fail to see. Children, we are old as myth. Blind and dumb, we are vision and voice.
