Gravity is a deliberate quality of solemnity that gives weight to people’s words or actions. It keeps us safely anchored to ideas of seriousness or importance as we move through our lives, preventing us from losing our grip on sobriety and rocketing into the giddy, dizzy heights of levity.
These two have made their choice, straightened out their priorities. These two are special. Most ordinary people, they jump into the air with abandon, out of a sense of fun, as if trying to escape the heavy responsibilities of everyday life. But look at him pogoing. Look at her springing. You can see the concentration and concern on their faces.
These two say no to frivolous frolics. They defy gravity… with gravity.
