Queen bed, directly across from campus

There are moments in one’s life when it feels as if all the oxygen in the world has been replaced with carbon monoxide, and it’s getting harder and harder to breathe. Moments when the reflection in the mirror fails to reveal who you are, but accurately depicts what you’ve become. Moments when you realize that as your appointment book has gotten bigger, your life has gotten smaller. When your time is filled up, but your world is becoming empty.

It’s difficult, then, to remember that the world is never really empty. That no life is, or can be, small. That the reflection in the mirror is only one aspect of yourself. And that it’s possible to learn new ways to breathe.
