Against the Wall

You know you’re home when you don’t have to put your flowers in a vase; a jug will hold them sweet and crowded and you don’t mind when their petals fall messily on your tabletop.

You know you’re home when the color of the wall is as soft and warm as your best childhood memories and even the shadows are familiar to you.

You know you’re home when you can walk in the door after long absence and know that while the furniture may have moved, the smell of the place will always be the same. And you will be received with slow smiles spreading across the faces of those who missed you.

Welcome home.
