Young and Old

“Dad?”

“Yes, son?”

“I’ve been looking all over. Where are you?”

“I think I got on the wrong one of those vaporetto things. I’ve been wandering around… saw some churches. Now I’m taking a break, sitting on a bench. Where are you?”

“I don’t know. I think I’ve walked across the Rialto bridge seven or eight times, and now I’m looking at some canal. The Grand Canal? Maybe. I bought a tie.”

“Well, that’s nice.”

“Can’t have too many ties.”

“Well listen, I’m going to get up from here in a minute or two and try to make my way back to the hotel.”

“Me too.”

“Okay then, I’ll see you later, I think.”

“If we haven’t met up in an hour, I’ll call you.”

“Sounds good, son.”

“Talk to you later, Dad.”
