Scientists have only just begun studying the migratory patterns of gummi bears, but so far, research has shown that their winter migration involves traveling in small herds from one snowy location to another, careful not to cross over into any place that’s not frozen. The researchers agree that this is odd behavior, but at present, the hypothesis is that remaining in cold climates is instinctual: over years of evolution, they have learned the grave effects of warm weather on their health. And yet, why migrate at all? This is the question that puzzles scientists as they follow the gummi bears on their wintry journey, and though much more research is necessary before anyone will feel comfortable making any conclusive statements, there are whispers among the researchers that perhaps — just perhaps — the sole reason for the candy’s annual trek is that gummi bears love adventure.
