waking………..sleeping

If your waking self met your sleeping self, would the one slap the other till his eyes opened wide with surprise and reproach?
If your waking self met your sleeping self, would the one pull the other into dreams so deep that none was left to walk in the world of flesh?
If your waking self met your sleeping self, would the two be friends? Enemies? Would they recognize each other at all? Or would they pass, like ships in the night, afraid to touch, for fear of breaking a spell?
