Lubavitch Reader
NYCandre

A Lubavitch Hasid goes underground to read the words of ancient rabbis. The world is new but he is as old as the sand under the feet of God; his white beard says so. His black hat says so. His eyes turned to the page and away from the camera held by the man next to him say so.

Do not tug at me, say the Hasid’s beard, hat, eyes—I am tied by my sinews to these teachings. I am tied, and will be anchored when the hurricanes come that blow you away.
