I don’t care where you are or where you go, this remains a Universal Truth. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you do, this remains a Universal Truth. Regardless of what religion you follow or whether you are completely devoid of philosophy and faith, this remains a Universal Truth: Soup will make you happy.
Bouillabaisse or borscht, it’ll make you happy. Fasolada or phở, it’ll make you happy. Miso or menudo or minestrone, guess what. That’s right, it’ll make you happy. The very smell of soup—the ginseng steam of samgyetang, the garlicky punch of gazpacho, the peppery bite of ukha with cod—will make you happy.
Soup will comfort you and nourish you, it will revive you and rouse you, it will pick you up and lay you down, and it will make you happy. This is a Universal Truth.
