wild goose chase

utopia

Everything I know could be bounded in a teacup.

I know the cords that bind me to you can’t be measured by ordinary metrics. I know the tree whose limbs shelter us from storm can lose its leaves. I know the tides of the sea, which every hour yields gifts and surprises, can also sweep me out to drown.

And I know there is no sea, no tree, no cord. I know the teacup is empty. I know there is no teacup. I know there are only my teacup-shaped dreams and wishes.
