sunny with occasional leaps and bounds
Paul Pomeroy

       “Grandpa, come on!”
       “Where are we going?”
       “Outside.”
       “Why?”
       “We have to jump!”

Some days are like that. Some days are too fine to spend them with both feet on the ground. Some days require you spend a significant chunk of your waking hours airborne. Airborne under your own power. Some days it’s critically important to go outside and jump.

Why is it important? If you ask somebody to jump into the air, they’ll probably smile (if they don’t smile, there is a chance they may be aliens from outer space). Why do we smile? Because we immediately know leaping up into the air is the right thing to do. We know it’s a thing we want to do, even if our ‘dignity’ prevents us. That’s why it’s important…because hopping is a dignity-killer.

“Grandpa, did you get your picture?”
       “Yes.”
       “Then put down your camera.”
       “Why?”
       “We have to jump!”
