Theories and Opinions:
The chair is necessary because it gives the snow shape. It is a skeleton. Or, no—a dressmaker’s form. The chair is a body dressed by snow.
The chair is forgotten. It is a symbol of things left behind, a remnant of days passed. It is the memory of last summer.
The chair is defiant. It is a symbol of things hoped for, a flag marking territory. It is a contract with next summer.
The chair is there because this is a house where guests are made welcome, and snow gets tired after all that falling.
