Picture yourself in a car by Lake Erie, with bare-knuckled trees and sapphire skies. Lay out the pictures and let them dry slowly; they’ll darken as you close your eyes. Paper cranes fold out their wings on the dash, waiting to take to to the air. Climb out the front, put your head in the clouds, and you’re gone…

I suppose there is probably a very good reason Polaroids in the Sky with Cranes was not a smash pop hit of the 1960s.
