I am a Dork in the service of Art.
I am Elvis Costello in 3D glasses, gazing out on the bland and well-adjusted world. I am Mickey Spillane in a bobtail bun, fearless in the face of ridicule. In one hand I hold the Holy Flaming Single Scoop, ice cream of the gods, to light my way. In the other I carry the Weight of Normalcy, a plain vanilla counterbalance, the anchor of convention. I am Captain Kirk in an open collar, exploring strange new worlds, seeking out new life and putting it on display. I am Mia Hamm in a short sleeve shirt, weaving my way through the midfield of mediocrity, twisting and spinning through the confused and confounded masses, scoring a goal they can’t comprehend. I am exquisite in my geekitude, flawless in my buffoonery, perfect in my plonkerhood.
Those who can understand will understand; those that can’t, won’t. But I am a Dork in the service of Art.
