It is possible to have a month without a full moon. This occurs in February, but either January or March will have two moons.
As this photographer discovered, if you capture the moon in the month of May, and very cleverly lay it on a sheet of paper, you will have five and one-third moons, which, when aligned, will measure about a yardstick in length. Depending.
The moon is about 1/4 the size of the Earth and weighs 81 billion tons.
You could drive to the moon in 135 days if you maintained a constant speed of 75 mph and didn’t stop to pay tolls, refuel, use the restroom, stretch your legs, or eat a Big Mac.
The Moon is not round (or spherical). Instead, it’s shaped like an egg. If you go outside and look up, one of the small ends is pointing right at you.
27% of Americans believe we never landed on the moon, but the proof is in the footprint. The size of the first footprint on the Moon was 13 by 6 inches, the dimensions of Neil Armstrong’s boot. This footprint is expected to last at least 10 million years.
If you weigh 150 pounds on earth, you’d weigh 25 pounds on the moon. When the moon is directly over your head, you weigh slightly less. So on a good first date, subtly maneuver yourself under the moon for that goodnight kiss.
In a survey conducted in 1988, 13% of those surveyed believed that the moon is made of cheese.
No cheese has ever been found on the moon.
