Yesterday it rained. This morning, more rain. They say to expect still more tonight. But it’s not raining now.

Why are those shoes propped up on their toes? Do they dry faster that way? That doesn’t seem likely. Is it to conserve space? Improbable. Maybe to reduce the area that gets wet when they drip dry. Possibly. Or is it because the person who took them off thought they looked more interesting that way? I hope so.

It’s good to ask questions. It’s good to think about answers. It’s pointless to expect to get them. Why are those shoes propped up on their toes? Why did the rain stop? You probably think the two questions are unrelated and, therefore, so are the answers. But why are those shoes propped up on their toes? Why did the rain stop?
