Lofty ambition

Just ten years old, and she knows precisely who she is. She is an artist-in-training, quite fearless, and slightly mad, like her mother, and her mother’s mother before her.

The trapeze is in her genes; she thinks of nothing else, and lives in a world without gravity. Her time on terra firma is temporary, a mere way station on her way to greater heights. And so she floats through life, the air around her forever in motion, soft breezes cushioning her days until the moment will arrive when she can take hold of the ring.

And fly.
