suz or sooze
If only I had a crystal ball. If only I were the kind of person who would schlep my crystal ball 3,000 miles to the Golden Gate bridge. If only I were not too self-conscious to prostrate myself on that bridge (in the midst of so many tourists), and aim my camera, set at just the right aperture, directly on the crystal ball, and therefore, on the bridge, on just the right day, at just the right hour, so that the light on the water would refract in just the right way, playing up this soft palette of steel vermillion, grass green, and bay blue. The storied Golden Gate. If only I could experience for a moment, how fabulous life looks upside down, while remaining right-side up.
If only I had a crystal ball. But alas I do not.
