Someday, kid, you’re going to fall in love. You won’t have to wonder if that’s what it is, either, because when it happens, you’ll know it alright. You’ll know it like you never knew anything before in your whole life. You’ll know it from the top of your head all the way down to the tips of your toes. That’s what my mother told me, and I learned she was right. Smart woman, my mother. And when you’re in love, when you’re really in love, you just won’t be able to keep it to yourself. You want to tell everybody. You want to do all that stuff they say, you know? Shout it from the rooftops and write it on the walls? And that’s it, kid. I’m in love. Crazy, head-over-heels in love. That’s the reason I’m buying up all this chalk. I gotta tell the world all about it. So you just go ahead and stop looking at me like that. Because someday, kid, you’re going to fall in love. When you’re older. And then you’ll understand.
