Ten things to carry in a bicycle basket:
A violin (provided it’s not a Stradavarius).
A baguette (whether or not you live in France).
A puppy (because this is what you do with a puppy and a bicycle basket).
A bunch of verbena (with which to perfume the air as you pedal by).
An impressive assemblage of carrot stalks (because you’re dating a vegetarian).
A helmet (because it looks better in the basket than on your head).
A sketchbook (in which to dabble in the shade of an oak tree).
A second puppy (borrow one! if you haven’t one of your own).
A bungee cord for all of the above (especially the puppies).
And a camera, of course (so you can capture a scene like this one).
