hypothetical backyard (94/365)

If I had a backyard, the first thing I’d do would be to get some lawn chairs. I don’t need more than one chair, true, but I think I’d get more than one. Maybe. It would be a good idea to have more than one chair, just in case someone else wanted to sit with me and see what we could see from my backyard. If I had a backyard, that is. And maybe it would be okay just to have the one chair. Maybe other people could bring their chairs with them if they wanted. If they came to sit in my backyard that I don’t have. There’s really no sense in buying furniture that wouldn’t get used, after all. So I’d say, “Don’t forget to bring a chair!” if I had someone to tell. I’d be sure to remind them that it’s a one-chair kind of backyard, but other chairs are certainly welcome.

Other chairs would always be welcome. It would be nice to sit and look and listen on nights when the weather is hot — but not too hot — and there’s a breeze, just a little one that keeps the air from sticking to things and weighing them down. It would be nice to sit and talk out there in the backyard. It would be nice. It sure would be, if I had a backyard.
