The Ballad of the Seemingly Endless Shawl

Things don’t always go according to plan, but we make plans anyway. We say “This is what I’m going to do” even when we know there’s only a 50/50 shot of having it work out the way we hope it will. And then we we go for it, we jump in, because we must: the only way to get things done in this world is to do them, after all. If it works, it works. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t. We are people of action.

When working on yarn projects, however, and we dream of gorgeous shawls but wind up with oversized afghans, the beautiful thing is that we can rip everything out and start over.
