wild goose chase

3 + 3 = 1

3 + 3 = 1. Now this is my kind of math.

Take a drive to Brighton Beach, camera on the seat beside you next to an open bag of chips. Wait for the sun to sit just so on the far horizon, the way it always does at low tide on a foggy mid-afternoon in early April.

Find three perfect stones in differing colors and graduated sizes, and stack them just so at the edge of the water, leaving room for the stones’ reflection.

Three minutes to shoot three stones at three o’clock in the afternoon = one perfectly lovely photograph. One perfectly lovely day.
